Phillip Gallinaro
Administrator
For Phillip Gallinaro, serving others with an open heart and mind is the whole point. This mindset of service defines his career and sets the tone for his leadership at United Hospice & Palliative Care. During his career, Phillip has worked in various positions in senior care, mental health, and the United States military. At United Hospice & Palliative Care, he has worked various roles, including social worker, clinical liaison, and outreach coordinator. Each position allowed him to learn the intricacies involved with exceptional quality care at every level.
Phillip has a background in mental health, and he has expanded his education and training to cover aging and grief in order to best serve our patients. He is honored to be the administrator of United Hospice & Palliative Care. His goal is to continue leading our team and helping patients with their needs. We are always excited to welcome new patients and staff to our team, where we treat you like family!
Joe Gallinaro
Director of Business Development
Joe has been involved with hospice care for 10 years. He started with a clinical career as a CNA before working his way up to be a respiratory therapist. Then, for the last four years, he moved over to hospice marketing. He has a passion for serving others, and his focus is always on his patients, ensuring that they receive the highest quality care. In Joe's spare time, he spends time with his family and travels around the country.
Brooke O'Shaughnessy
Clinical Director
Brooke is honored and blessed in her role as a hospice nurse. Several years ago, Brooke felt called to hospice care, and it has been in her heart ever since. She loves being able to meet her patients at their comfort level, and she takes pride in walking through hard moments with her patients with care, compassion, and dignity. For Brooke, the most rewarding part of her hospice career is helping patients transition with dignity and respect. As our clinical director at United Hospice & Palliative Care, she has the privilege of supporting the entire team to promote the best outcomes for both our patients and staff.
Brooke O’Shaughnessy
Clinical Director
Deeply devoted to hospice and palliative care, Brooke has made it her life’s work to serve patients and families with compassion, dignity, and unwavering presence. A proud mom of two and current Family Nurse Practitioner student, she blends clinical expertise with a heart-led approach to leadership and care.
Her journey into hospice began several years ago, and from the very first bedside, she knew this was her calling. Since then, she has walked alongside countless families through life’s most tender moments—meeting patients where they are, honoring their goals, and creating space for peace and connection.
As Clinical Director at United Hospice & Palliative Care of Arizona, she leads with intention, grace, and a fierce commitment to both her team and the community. She believes that supporting staff with the same compassion we offer our patients is the key to truly exceptional care.
For Brooke, hospice is more than a career—it’s a privilege, a passion, and a promise to never let anyone walk this journey alone.
Joseph Gallinaro
Director of Business Development
With a passion for connecting people to meaningful care, Joe brings heart, strategy, and community focus to his role as Director of Business Development at United Hospice & Palliative Care of Arizona. His work is rooted in building trusted relationships—whether with local providers, referral partners, or families seeking guidance during a difficult time.
Drawing from years of experience in healthcare outreach and leadership, Joe is known for his ability to listen deeply, advocate honestly, and create strong networks that serve the whole person—not just the patient. He believes in making hospice approachable, accessible, and centered on what truly matters: dignity, trust, and human connection.

At United, Joe works closely with the clinical and administrative teams to ensure that our mission extends beyond our walls—into the hands of those who need it most. His warmth, professionalism, and devotion to the community reflect the very heart of United’s values.
Dr. Wolfson, MD, FAAHPM
Medical Director
As United’s Medical Director, Dr. Wolfson provides clinical oversight and expert guidance to ensure the highest standard of care for every patient. Board-certified in hospice and palliative medicine, he brings years of specialized experience and a deep understanding of complex symptom management, end-of-life decision-making, and patient-centered care planning.
Dr. Wolfson also leads our team of associate medical directors and nurse practitioners—collaborating closely to provide individualized, compassionate care that aligns with each patient’s goals and values.
Richard Wolfson
Medical Director
Dr. Richard Wolfson is from Tucson, AZ, and he currently serves as one of our medical directors at United Hospice & Palliative Care. He received his undergraduate training at UCLA and pursued medical school at the University of Arizona. He completed his residency at Banner University and Phoenix Veterans Administration Internal Medicine Program, which is his specialty.
Dr. Wolfson came to United Hospice & Palliative Care because he believes in the work we do and the way we do it. He strongly supports an integrative approach with the hospice team, addressing the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of patients and their families during their end-of-life journey. For him, the process is rewarding, and he always strives to help patients and their families deal with serious and challenging health issues during this very emotional time. He strives to help patients maintain dignity and grace during each phase of their illness, maximizing their ability to enjoy their family and friends during the transition.
In addition to his role with patients, Dr. Wolfson works as an educator for our team, working closely with staff members to reduce patient pain and suffering. During our interdisciplinary group meetings, he provides evidence-based, patient-centered educational opportunities.
Outside of work, Dr. Wolfson enjoys photography, music, and swimming. These pastimes provide balance to his busy work schedule.
David Wilson
Medical Director
Dr. Wilson is another one of our medical directors at United Hospice & Palliative Care. As an internal medicine specialist, he provides medical care for patients across the valley. He is a graduate of the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine of Midwestern University, having earned his degree in 2016. Dr. Wilson is always committed to providing the best quality care for our patients and their families.
Amar Kapur
Associate Medical Director
Dr. Amar Kapur is proud to be an associate medical director at United Hospice & Palliative Care. As a board-certified family physician, he enjoys helping a variety of patients. His focus is outpatient care, and he has been working with hospice and end-of-life care since his residency training. He finished his education at Madigan Army Medical Center in 2014, and he served active duty in the Army for seven years. During his career, he has practiced medicine in Alaska, Hawaii, and Arizona. In his time off, he enjoys cooking, baking, reading, and spending time with his family.
